Altus was originally established in 2003 to manage real estate investments for a select group of investors.  This group also invested in a predecessor company called R.L. Johnson Company, which assembled a 3,500,000 square foot portfolio on behalf of its investors, in Minneapolis before merging with Duke Realty.  Altus has now grown into one of the larger real estate investment firms in the St. Louis region.
